About Our EZGO Light Kits

What EZGO Golf Carts Do You Have Lights Available For?

We have lights available for the following EZGO models:

EZGO TXT: Instamatic® Basic and Street-Legal Kits

EZGO TXT Valor: Instamatic® Basic and Street-Legal Kits

EZGO RXV: Instamatic® Basic and Street-Legal Kits

EZGO S4: MadJax® LED Ultimate Plus Light Kit

Instamatic® FlexVolt™ Lights: Our EZGO light kits are manufactured using the latest in LED technology. Our Instamatic® FlexVolt™ lights feature technology that allows you to safely operate our light equipment at any voltage range between 12-48 volts. This gives you great flexibility in installing your lights as well as other additional electrical components. By completely removing the need to install a voltage reducer, our lights cut down on installation time and minimize the additional cost typically required when installing lights.

EZGO Basic Light Kits:When you need lights to increase your field of vision but you don't want or need anything else, the basic light kit is for you. By providing you with headlights, taillights, and running lights, our basic light kits allow you to see the road ahead but don't equip your cart with signaling capability. These kits come with a wiring harness that runs to the headlights and taillights, your battery compartment for power, and then up to your dash to install the push/pull switch. These kits are simple to install and provide you with bright, energy-efficient lighting!

EZGO Street Legal (Deluxe) Kits:As the name would indicate, our street legal kits are meant to provide customers with just about everything they would need to safely and legally operate their cart on public roadways (always check with state and local laws/requirements). In addition to headlights and taillights, customers who purchase our street legal kits for their EZGO carts also receive turn signals, brake lights, and a horn. This allows you to operate your cart like a "mini car" and signal other drivers and pedestrians for safe driving. Installing a street legal kit requires the addition of other extra components but due to our plug-and-play wiring design, you should be back on the road in no time!

*Please Note* Our street legal kits use a mechanical brake swith in place of the brake pad. The mechanical brake switch is a more reliable braking mechanism that better stands up to the rigors of golf cart use.

Our Replacement Lights: Our EZGO replacement headlights and taillights are designed to work with the most common factory wiring harnesses making swapping in your new ones a breeze! *Please note that cutting and splicing of wiring may still be required.

Other Installation Information

Installing lights on your golf cart is easy when you have the proper instructions and tools. Our kits have all the necessary instructions and templates to make getting your light kit installed nothing to stress over. When it comes to installing your light kit, there are a few crucial steps you need to know about; let's walk through some of those below.

Installing The Headlights and Taillights

The main thing to be aware of is that you will need to cut into your fiberglass body when installing the headlights and taillights. Although this can seem daunting, we provide templates allowing you to line up the cut lines perfectly on your cart's body. With the provided templates and a little patience, you can get your lights attached seamlessly to the fiberglass body. Please also know that when cutting the body, you will need a Dremel tool or another cutting instrument to allow you to precisely route along the cut lines.

Running Your Wiring Harness

Along with cutting out the headlights and taillights, you will also need to run the wiring harness along the frame of your golf cart. You will run your wiring harness to a few major connection points. They are as follows: The front headlights and rear taillights, the push/pull switch on the dash, and the primary power connections on the batteries. Along with those connections that are the same on every kit, if you have a street-legal kit, you will need run wiring to the brake area of your cart and the turn signal wiring along your steering column. Once again, our instructions will walk you through this process so you can get the wiring run and zip-tied to your frame in no time!

Please Note:

This brake switch is for an EZGO TXT and TXT Valor. If you have an RXV your brake switch will look different.

Connecting to Power

Once you have your headlights and tail lights cut out and installed and your wiring harness run, the last and final step is connecting to your power supply. In the past, you would be required to connect to only 12 volts of power, sometimes requiring you to purchase an additional voltage reducer. However, with our FlexVolt™ lights, that is a thing of the past! Even our MadJax® brand light kits will have a pre-installed voltage reducer for easy set-up.
