Golf Cart Windshield FAQ's

Whether you need a replacement due to a scratch, crack, or another form of damage, or are looking to install your cart's first windshield, our windshields will provide you with unmatched quality. If you want to know more about keeping your windshield in tip-top shape, check out this article on how to clean your golf cart windshield.

What are your windshields made out of?

Key Takeaway:Our golf cart windshields are made from either 100% genuine acrylic or industry-leading 70/30 impact-modified resin.

Acrylic: Acrylic, also known as Plexiglass, is a plastic material found in a wide range of commercial products. What makes acrylic so popular is its versatility and ability to be molded and adapted to various uses. Acrylic can come in different thicknesses, colors, mirrored or non-glare, and other additional properties. In addition to its adaptability, acrylic possesses other assets that make it ideal for use in golf cart windshields. Optical clarity, impact resistance (10x more impact resistant than glass), natural weather and UV resistance, and others make acrylic an ideal choice. On top of that, acrylic is lightweight and easy to handle, so getting your windshield installed won't be a chore! Our windshields use 3/16" acrylic, an ideal ratio balancing optical clarity, strength, and flexibility for the perfect blend of form and function. Don't just take our word for it, read the experts.

Impact-Modified: Our 70/30 impact-modified windshields are made from 70% impact resin and 30% acrylic. By utilizing this ratio, our windshields provide superior strength while at the same time still maintaining optimal visual clarity. Most windshield companies that claim "impact modified" don't disclose their resin ratios. The reason for this is they can increase their profit margins by putting minimal amounts of impact-modified resin into the windshield but still claiming impact-modified status. Our windshields are guaranteed to have the stated 70/30 impact-modified resin ratio.

Foldable vs Single Sheet Windshields

Key Takeway: Our windshields are foldable giving you maximum versatility for your golf cart.

Although there are a few single-sheet windshields on the market today, most golf cart windshields will be in the "fold-down" style. The reason for the popularity of the fold-down windshield is the versatility it provides the golf cart owner. The ability to fold the windshield down in times of fair weather and flip the windshield up in less than ideal circumstances allows you to use your cart in various weather patterns. Is it warm, and you want to feel the breeze? Keep your windshield folded down, and enjoy the sunshine. Is it raining, or is the wind biting through your jacket? Flip the windshield up for the perfect weather screen. All the windshields we sell are fold-down, giving you maximum versatility.

How To Install Your Golf Cart Windshield

Key Takeaway: You should be able to install one of our windshields in under 10 minutes. We provide the necessary hardware-plastic sleeves and bolts for easy attachment.

There are various golf cart windshields out on the market today with different installation requirements. On top of that, each golf cart model windshield will have other installation requirements due to different measurements and the different contours on the acrylic. The windshields we sell will typically come with a small hardware package and two plastic sleeves. The bolts will attach through the windshield into pre-drilled holes on your front roof supports to align and help hold your windshield in place. However, the primary support for the windshield comes from the two plastic sleeves that attach to the front roof supports and grip both sides of the windshield. (*Please note that there are some models that only use plastic sleeves.) The attachment of these sleeves provides a more distributed point of contact for the windshield- minimizing the cracking and damage that can come from too many single bolt-hole attachment points and allowing you to use your windshield for years on end. With our detailed instructions and simple installation procedure, you should have our windshields installed on your golf cart in minutes.
