Standard golf cart tires are manufactured using bias-ply construction. This means that nylon sheets are layered at 30-45 degree angles across the center line of the tire. This provides some strength and rigidity to the tire but not at the level of radial construction.
Radial golf cart tires on the other hand feature layered material that runs perpendicularly across the tire's center line at 90-degree angles (sidewall to sidewall). In addition to the perpendicular layer, there is a top layer that flows in the direction of the tire as a belt.
