This Deluxe Street Legal* Club Car DS light kit features all the components necessary to provide your cart with headlights, tail lights, turn signals, 4-Way flashers, and brake lights. Our kits feature a mechanical brake switch (instead of a brake pressure pad) for a professional and reliable installation. This light kit features thick injection molded plastic bezels, bright LED headlights with LED marker lights, and LED tail lights. LED lights use 1/3 of the energy needed for halogen bulbs making them great for electric carts! If you are replacing an existing light kit, please check dimensions before ordering, as some DS carts had larger headlight assemblies installed. The headlight assemblies in this kit will not be compatible with the larger "OEM" style headlights due to the size of the opening.

Club Car DS Light Kit Installation Overview (Street-Legal Kit):
When it comes to installing our street-legal light kit for the Club Car DS, our instructions will walk you through each step of the process. However, you may have questions about what installation will require you to do before you make a purchase. This overview is designed to answer some of those questions- let's breakdown some of the major steps of getting our light kit on your cart.
First, it is important to note that you will be required to cut into your golf cart's body cowl to place and attach our headlights and taillights. With our provided templates and a steady hand you should be able to complete this process with relative ease.
Second, you will need to route the wiring harness throughout the body of your cart and up to all the necessary connection points. The attachment points are as follows: headlights, taillights, turn signal assembly, brake kit assembly, horn, battery connection, and push/pull switch. Take a look at the diagram below for an overview of where those are located on your golf cart.
You will also have to attach the brake switch to your golf cart for the activation of the brake lights. Our street-legal light kits use a mechanical brake switch for reliable and consistent performance.
The turn signal will be mounted on the steering column of your golf cart. Please note, the end of the turn signal arm has the button for the activation of the horn.
Lastly, you will need to cut a small hole in your dash panel for the placement and installation of the push/pull switch.

*Please Note* As we are in the process of changing over our packaging you may receive a light kit with a different Instamatic® logo than the one above.
A 10amp reducer is enough for this light kit. If you plan on adding other accessories you would get a 20 or 30 amp voltage reducer.
Does it come with instructions?
Yes, all of our light kits come with instructions and templates for cutting out the necessary holes for the headlight and tail light assemblies.
Does this fit a 2000 Club Car DS without trimming the body?
If your cart does not have any lights installed, you will have to use the included templates to cut holes for the headlights and for the tailights.
If my cub car already has horn turn signals and I have a missing headlight can I change my lighting system to LED without replacing the entire system?
Club Car DS models have two different size headlight bezels. The "OEM" style is the larger style and the "aftermarket" style has a slightly smaller headlight housing bezel. We carry the "aftermarket" style headlights which will not work on DS carts that already have the "OEM" style installed. Click here to see what the OEM style headlight looks like. If you do have the smaller, "aftermarket" lights already installed you can replace them with our LED kit but occasionally you will need to splice some wiring if you intend to use the existing wiring harness.
In the brake assembly box, what is the black box with 3 terminals and Velcro on it? Does it connect to the wiring harness?
Brake lights not working, so wondering if this part is the cause.
That small black box is the brake timer relay. Normally it comes preattached to the wiring harness. The blue wire attaches to #1, the white wire to #2, and the black wire to #3. This will complete the brake circuit and allow the brake lights to function correctly and turn off after approximately 40 seconds after applying the parking brake.
Yes, all of our golf cart LED light kits include LED light assemblies.
