In our last article, we discussed the top six functionalaccessories for your golf cart– products that upgrade your golf cart’s performance.
The natural next step in any golf cart modification journey is to add cosmetic accessories to upgrade the appearance and style of the cart.
Decals, body additions, sound equipment, metal components, and various other products are all great ways to create the custom golf cart of your dreams.
With so many sources and products available in the aftermarket golf cart accessories market, finding the best quality products to customize your golf cart can be a bit challenging if you don't know where to begin.
Golf Cart Stuff™ has a wide selection of quality golf cart parts at unbelievable prices, with the best service you'll find in the industry.
Let's look at some popular options below and summarize what makes them worth considering.
If you missed our last article covering functional, cosmetic golf cart accessories, you can read that here!
If your current golf cart seat covers are completely worn out, you may consider replacing them to be crucial to the function of your golf cart. However, outside of the worst cases, golf cart seat covers are a cosmetic gem. Available in OEM and custom styles, you can pick options to your liking and add some new color to your golf cart.
Replacing your seat covers is a great way to make your cart look new without the additional cost of replacing a full front seat. Please note- if your cushions are damaged, a total front seat replacement is the way to go. Trying to add extra foam on missing foam patches never works.
Most golf carts are not provisioned with great sound systems or speakers, so playing some music is not much of an option. The great news is that there are plenty of aftermarket speakers you can choose from that allow you to make playing some tunes a reality! When selecting a speaker, purchase one from a reputable manufacturer with speakers that can stand up to nature's elements while still providing quality sound.
Diamond plate accessory items are typically metal trim pieces that replace older plastic trim pieces on your golf cart. The aluminum or stainless steel adds some shine to your golf cart and can reduce the dull and drab plastic look that comes standard on most golf carts.
In addition to the unique look, most diamond plate accessories are weatherproof and won't rust, so you won't have to worry about the pieces starting to fade or rust.
New golf cart floor mats replace your old floor mat and add new life to the central portion of your cart. Floor mats have changed drastically over the years, and what once used to be just a regular piece of rubber has now been transformed with deeper groove patterns and unique colors.
In addition to the enhanced grip and traction that floor mats provide, you can also use floor mats to achieve an even more custom look to your unique cart.
Brush guards are large metal frame pieces that attach to the front end of your golf cart. Their primary purpose is to protect against small brush and other hazards that can make contact with your cart's front and cause minor damage.
Although they have a functional element that helps preserve your cart, most people purchase brush guards primarily for the unique look it adds to their cart. Adding a brush guard can make your cart look larger and more pronounced, which is what some cart owners want.
Fender flares are additional pieces that get attached to the top portion of your golf cart's wheel wells. The extra width this adds to your cart brings a slight increase in safety (protecting against rocks and other debris that your tires can kick up) but a significant increase in visual appeal.
Adding fender flares makes golf carts appear broader and more aggressive.
By now, you probably realize that this selection of cosmetic golf cart accessories may not be the most critically important or absolutely necessary to the overall functionality of your golf cart, but they certainly add that visual appeal that really is the icing on the cake - so to speak.
Now that we've covered all the basic golf cart accessory upgrades, join us for the final article in this 3-part series, where we cover all the extra stuff that will take your cart from simply "upgraded" to a Fully Customized, Extreme Performance Machine.
