Yamaha golf carts are very popular in the US and abroad. With a wide range of models that spans over 40 years of production, many Yamaha carts are still on the road today.

With many models in use, the piece of equipment that often gets the most abuse is the cart wheels and tires .

After so many miles, your tires might lose their tread depth, and changing them out may be high on your list. If you are looking for a new wheel and tire combo, you may have a few questions regarding sizing and fitment.

This article will get all those questions answered for you. We have broken this article down into the significant question categories for your cart wheels and tires- sizing, bolt pattern, and lug nuts. Let's jump right in!

Yamaha Golf Cart Tire Sizing

Some of the most common questions customers have are regarding the size of the various tire combos on the market today. You may wonder what size tire your current golf cart has and the maximum size you can fit on your cart.

Regarding tire combos, your cart's manufacturer and your model are two essential pieces of information. With that covered, let's look at some frequently asked questions below.

What size are Yamaha golf cart tires?

Stock Yamaha golf carts will have wheel and tire combos with an overall height of approximately 18". This overall height encompasses the golf cart rims and the golf cart tires when mounted together and aired to the proper PSI.

Typically, stock carts come with steel wheels and a very mild tire tread for golf course use.

Now that you know the size of the standard golf cart wheel and tire combo, you may wonder what other options you have for your low-speed vehicle. We have those answers below!

Non-Lifted Golf Cart Wheels and Tires

The various size tires that fit on your Yamaha golf cart will depend almost exclusively on what model Yamaha cart you have. We've broken down the different wheel and tire sizes below and what Yamaha model they work with:

Wheels and tires with 18" in overall diameter
    • Fits G-Series (G1 up through G22) carts without a lift kit

    • Fits a Drive (G29) cart without a lift kit

    • Fits a Drive2 cart without a lift kit

Wheels and tires with 20" in overall diameter
    • Fits G-Series (G1 up through G22) carts with a minimum 3" lift kit installed

    • Fits a Drive (G29) cart without a lift kit

Lifted Golf Cart Wheels and Tires

If you have a lifted golf cart, you have many wheel and tire options at your disposal from which you can choose. The overall size of the golf cart tire combos that you can fit will depend on what size lift kit you install.

In your search for larger wheels and tires, use the following chart as a guide:

Yamaha Golf Cart Wheel Bolt Pattern and lug nuts

Golf Cart Wheel Bolt Pattern

Almost all major golf cart manufacturers, including Yamaha, use the standard golf cart bolt pattern of 4 x 101.6mm, often referred to as the "4 x 4" pattern.

This measurement is from the center of one wheel stud to the center of an opposite diagonal stud.

Almost all aftermarket golf cart wheels use this bolt pattern during manufacturing, so finding wheels and tires for your cart shouldn't be an issue.

Golf cart wheel lug nuts

Yamaha golf cart wheels take Metric lug nuts with a measurement of 12mm x 1.25.

Although this may seem like one of the least critical details, purchasing the wrong size lug nuts won't allow you to mount and attach your golf cart wheels properly. As a result, you must select the correct sizing at checkout.

When it comes to lug nuts, the standard version is the "Acorn" style lug nut which is most often sold in chrome and black.

However, if you want an upgrade, you can also shop for "Spline" and "Spiked" lug nuts, adding some unique flare to your cart. The spline lug nuts we carry have a unique key included with every purchase.

Various Lug Nut Styles- (Left to Right) Acorn, Spline, Spike
